This ministry was birthed out of my desire to never see another victim of sexual abuse. It’s a long hard road to recovery for a person who has been abused in this kind of way. So often we don’t understand how the abuse has affected us negatively and it takes time to unravel the devastation it creates in the life of a victim.

After working through my own recovery and helping other victims, one day it occurred to me, rather than spending so much time being reactive to these offenses wouldn’t it be great to be proactive by coming up with a program that could possibly prevent a sexual assault.

Reactive  - acting in response to a situation

Proactive  - controlling a situation by causing something to happen rather than responding to it after it’s happened.

I was excited about the concept but didn’t know how to get in front of the offenders. Most men who are sex abusers are not going to volunteer that information nor will they reach out for help. That’s when I approached the Texas Department of Criminal Justice with my idea of a faith-based program where offenders can come and I could teach them what I’ve learned about freedom. This Christian program encourages them to go back and deal with trauma from their past in order to find freedom to move forward so they might live a productive life.
